When Japan implemented episode 12.1, they did not implement the battlegrounds like other Ragnarok servers did. Â When they discussed it in an interview, they stated the reason for this was they felt the battleground system had too many bugs and was not user friendly enough to be implemented on their server. Â Word is that it may be implemented in 2011 once Gravity completes an overhaul of the current battleground system, but for now Japan does not have any of the battleground content.
However, players were still anxious to get their hands on the equipment that was exclusive to battlegrounds. Â Their solution to this problem was the ‘Link System’.
The Link System is effectively a way players can get the Krieger von Midguard “Glorious” set equipment without the battleground content. Â When participating in various content across the game, players can receive a variety of different “Coins”. Â These coins can be traded and sold between players freely. Â With enough of these coins, players can purchase the Glorious weapons and armor, which then becomes character bound.
The following are the different coins that can be obtained:
-
Turbo Track Coin -Â Obtained by trading in 60 Aldebaran Turbo Track points. -
Arena Coin – Obtained by trading in 60 Izlude Arena points.
GvG Coin – Obtained from treasure boxes in War of Emperium.-
Endless Tower Coin – Obtained by trading in ‘Ash of Darkness’ from the Endless Tower instance.
Kafra Coin – Obtained by trading in 500 Kafra Service Points (obtained by using in-game Kafra services).
Coin Holder – All MVPs have a chance to give a Coin Holder as an MVP reward. Â When used, the coin holder gives 10 random coins.
With enough of these coins, you can trade in for the Glorious equipment. Â In order to make the trade, you’ll need to have enough of each type of coin. Â The exchange rate of the gears is as follows:
- All Glorious Weapons: x100 Â x200 Â x200 Â x150 Â x50
- Glorious Muffler: x200 Â x400 Â x400 Â x300 Â x100
- Glorious Mass-Production Shoes: x10 Â x20 Â x20 Â x50 Â x5

- Glorious Shoes: x200 Â x400 Â x400 Â x300 Â x100
- Glorious Suit: x200 Â x400 Â x400 Â x300 Â x100
- Glorious Ring: x1000 Â x2000 Â x2000 Â x1000 Â x800
Not all the Glorious equipment is the same as on iRO however. Â The Glorious equipment has the following differences on jRO:
- Glorious Weapons: The stats and effects are roughly the same. Â However, when those effects are obtained is adjusted. Â For most weapons, the base effects are split up and added to higher refine levels, and the [Slaughter], [Destruction], and [Blessing] bonus effects are moved to +7 from +6 (these bonuses are slightly weaker as a result). Â A complete list would be unreasonable, but the following is an example of one of the modified Glorious Weapons:
- Glorious Fist
- iRO Version: Increases damage vs Demihuman targets by 95%, bypasses 20% defense on demihuman targets. Â At +6, gains [Slaughter Lv1] bonus, and an additional 5% defense bypassing. Â At +9, it removes the cast time of [Guillotine Fist], and automatically casts Zen when using the skill [Fury].
- jRO Version: Increases damage vs Demihuman targets by 40%. Â At +5, adds an additional +30% damage and 10% defense bypassing vs demihuman. Â At +7, gains [Slaughter Lv1] bonus, an additional 30% damage and 15% defense bypassing. Â At +9, it removes the cast time of [Guillotine Fist], and automatically casts Zen when using the skill [Fury].
